Three long days in the car, but I am home. and glad for it too. This summer was a good one, but I was ready for it to be over. Actually, I've maxed out what is available to me from this free one, so I'm thinking of buying a year with them for myself for my birthday. Assuming this meets the standards for the one I'll need for class in the fall. But I want as many opinions about it as I can get. Traviata was gorgeous, sad and fluffy. The lead woman sang so very well, and now all of the costume shop women have decided we will too sing a high C the moment before our death. Afterward there was the Cast party which was one of the few times we are allowed to drink at the Opera. They had tiny beers and box wine. So La Traviata opens tomorrow, and La Cenerentola opens on Sunday. I'm going to both of those with Morgan and a few others, then to the Opera hosted opening night parties afterward. This past week has been pretty uneventful, not much work to be done. Work has been winding down for the most part, as the shows start to open next Saturday. Photo dress for one of the shows is actually tonight, though not mine. Thursday night Morgan and I were sociable and went to Karaoke night at the PI. That was actually more fun than I was expecting it to be. We hadn't gone previously because of working The Internhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07718997676690795077noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100458503032943029.post-13996810023962085112009-07-07T14:21:00.003-04:002009-07-07T15:17:32.341-04:00stupid sprained wrist.Friday I couldn't go to work. Saturday was the Fourth. Sunday I got back to work (yay!) but I was sent home yesterday with an achey wrist and am useless again today. This wrist thing is pissing me off, but I know if I rush it that it isn't going to get any better. Still I don't like being idle. The Fourth was fun though. On Friday night Morgan, Maura and I tried to get down to Cooperstown to see The Internhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07718997676690795077noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100458503032943029.post-81157689513217764202009-07-02T11:49:00.002-04:002009-07-02T11:51:45.951-04:00Well this was fun.So, I had an exciting day yesterday. We were rushed most of the day to get things done as our first dress was at 7 last night, and we had to have everything stage ready in the wardrobe house by 5:30. I’d gone to drop off the last faux fur stole and was headed back when I slipped on the stairs and fell down a few of them. I landed hurting my wrist and generally shocking myself. I walked back to The Internhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07718997676690795077noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100458503032943029.post-30100339967414526322009-06-29T21:30:00.002-04:002009-06-29T22:53:27.436-04:00Tech WeekSo yesterday started tech week on Sunday. Which is why I've not been posting. We've had four 12 hour days in the past week, last Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and this past Sunday. Friday was pay day which made things a bit better and Saturday was our day off. The week kinda blurs together with how much work we've been doing as all three shows have their first dress rehearsal this week. With first dress ( and therefore completed costumes due) for the first of the three shows due next Sunday we're all in a bit of paniced rush mode. My show isn't up for first dress until a week from Wednesday, but still crazy, as most of the pieces are bias cut 30's dresses with lots of fiddly bits on them. The shop had it's first 12 hour day this past Thursday, The Internhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07718997676690795077noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100458503032943029.post-87717136960813680882009-06-15T19:07:00.002-04:002009-06-15T19:47:25.782-04:00First weekend in CooperstownFriday was a mostly uneventful day. I ended up helping weed our new costume shop flower garden in the morning, and we found wild strawberries! So now half of what was to be flower garden is going to be tiny strawberry patch as well. Erica, one of the drapers, found a strawberry on one of the tiny plants and I helped her figure out which were strawberry plants and which were weeds. I'm a bit under the weather, so I'm not up for hearing people scream the lyrics of old bad songs in the tiny bar. Though it was quite fun on Tuesday night when we went after work. Good Chinese food too. There isn't much work to be done at the moment, we're mostly doing house The Internhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07718997676690795077noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100458503032943029.post-62375383308663722342009-06-08T19:10:00.005-04:002009-06-08T21:39:21.388-04:00Cooperstown!We have arrived! :DMorgan and I actually got in last night, but yeah. We ended up leaving New Jersey yesterday about 2 pm, got lost just at the start, trying to find a Costco to stock up at before getting to New York. We left North Carolina this morning, and took our sweet time going down the road. We took pictures today, which I'll probably post tomorrow night. Christmas presents and touristy things. I unfortunately don't have as many photos as I'd like because my camera decided that it was going to shit out and not work. I can't tell what's wrong with it either because of the busted screen. This makes me very sad. I even cried a little on the way home. It was a really slow week, not much to do really. Just last week I went to two plays, out to pubs or clubs on two separate nights, went to a museum and a (failed) picnic in Hyde Park. Compared to the fact that normally I just sit at home on my laptop most of the time it's quite astounding. And that's my long winded excuse as to why I haven't posted more about The Internhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07718997676690795077noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100458503032943029.post-58810962743258704942007-11-18T15:05:00.000-05:002007-11-18T14:41:23.502-05:00ParisI wasn't too very excited when I was packing for Paris, even before I learned that I was going to have to pack all of my belongings up. I dunno, I'd never really wanted to go to Paris as I'd not heard amazing things about the people or atmosphere of the city, just nice things about the monuments. Really though, in all honesty I did not meet one person who was anything ruder than indifferent. I must say that I throughly enjoyed Paris, and hope to go again with a little more time.
